From our new headteacher

Dear Parent/Guardian,

It is a privilege to write to you to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Wellfield Community School.

I am delighted to have been appointed and will work tirelessly to promote the best interests of students, staff and the local community.

I am immensely proud to have the opportunity to move forward and improve the education of all students at Wellfield. I see this as a  new beginning and  I look forward to implementing  changes to provide a quality education that will enable all students to meet their full potential.

As well as leading what I hope to be a high achieving  school I want to provide an educational establishment where children are happy and look forward to attending. I will also in time like to open the school to the community providing a base where the whole community can come together.

Over the next two years the school will undertake numerous physical changes with the implementation of the BSF (building schools for the future) programme. The refurbishment and new buildings will provide state of the art  facilities for our students  supporting outstanding achievement and ensuring success.

Wellfield has tremendous potential and I am excited about the prospect of leading the school in its next phase of development.

I look forward to meeting you in the future

Linda Rodham

Year 11 Maths revision page link (see right)

Welcome to Wellfield Web Portal.

This is a new development for Wellfield. We are hoping to make this a useful source of information and a communication link for our parents, pupils and staff. So far we have added only a fraction of what we want to be available, there will be more content as we add in more details of our curriculum and events. The Announcements link will provide up to date information for everyone.

Use the links above, and to the left, to find out about what we do and also to find out how to contact us.

There is information about important dates and school events as well as links to useful web sites to help pupils learn and achieve.

There is also a link for parents to access attendance and achievement data via the Durham Learning Gateway.

Our aims

To be an exemplary 21st century centre of learning, providing transformational experiences and opportunties with first class outcomes for all, offering a hub for family and lifetime learning, sporting and cultural activities.

To help our young people to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
